Ron and Connie Torkelsen recently retired from pastoral ministry finding their home in the South Lake Tahoe area. Ron pastored the Heavenly Valley Church in 2010-2012 as part of his responsibility with the Carson City District and always thought it would be nice to return some day.  After 43 years of ministry the dream came true, and Ron and Connie now live across the street from the church.  Ron and Connie have three adult children, five grandchildren, and a great grand child.  "Aren't we lucky," they will say.  Being retired doesn't mean they are dead, so they are privileged to be a part of the ministry at the Heavenly Valley Church.  After all, Ron says, I get to preach in the Heavenly Sanctuary at least twice a month!"
